Job description
  • Lead the work in securing good relations with all the media and especially with those that are focused on home furnishing.
  • Publish all press releases and are responsible for the content of these.
  • Secure that the local media in each country receive sufficient support so that positive articles about product news or happenings are written that support the IKEA brand’s general marketing activities in each country. Lead the planning of the media around marketing activities inviting journalists, bloggers and other media influencers.
  • Secure that all managers that need digital media training receive this training and support all store managers with local media contacts.
  • If there are any situations where the IKEA brand is involved in media attention due to any cause, secure that all media coverage is done in a way that does not have any negative effect on the IKEA brand or reputation.
  • Develop and maintain a crisis plan so that the markets are well prepared to handle any type of crisis (injury to customers, injury to co-workers, damage to buildings or equipment, products that are faulty and might cause harm to customers, incidents where a product has caused harm to customers, etc.).
  • Be an active member of the marketing and communication department in the service office.
  • Build relationships with influencers to build the IKEA brand and protect its reputation
  • Identify and write stories about the brand that will generate a positive perception.

  • Graduate or Degree in Marketing with atleast 6-7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience of creating and implementing fact-based strategic plans, setting budgets, and following up goals
  • Proven ability to work with creative advertising/communication processes/agencies
  • Experience in effective and efficient use and measurement of all media (paid, owned, and earned)
  • Ability to communicate confidently and clearly in English
  • Proven ability of having made a difference in positively influencing the business result
