The Framework IKEA.com product portfolio consists of Skapa digital design system, the Visa conceptual system and the IKEA.com base site or top domain. All these products fit together in their need for digital design and direction from the perspectives of IKEA visual identity, commerciality and best in class reference as IKEA Brand.
The Skapa digital design system contains the re-usable design fragments of customer meeting points such as icons, buttons and illustrations as well as the design principles and guidance. Visa Conceptual site uses the Skapa design fragments into the wider context of content to express, through the IKEA visual identity point of view, how conceptual mandatories and commitments can be expressed as a whole digital experience. Visa Conceptual site is also the base for digital conceptual follow-up. It is a here and now reference and also includes deep-linking to IKEA base foundation of how we want to be perceived as a brand. The IKEA.com top domain site defines the overall URL structure and sells IKEA as a brand and an expert in home furnishing.
The digital design system and the conceptual site are accessible for all IKEA trademark users to guide and support all digital development of customer facing solutions from visual identity point of view. The IKEA.com base is accessible for all customers as a regular site on internet.
In this assignment, together with your team and peers across the organisation, you set the design direction of IKEA’s visual identity in digital products based on the digital design principles and guidelines. You are also expected to take lead developing and further enhancing the digital design principles and guidelines and with that as a base, support in designing, reviewing and implementing digital visual design with a strong focus on the user interaction.
To be successful, being a creative problem solver and getting things done comes easy. You have vast experience as creative lead in digital product development, preferably both web and mobile, with very good abilities to produce production ready visual design. You have worked with user centric design and are experienced working with user testing and similar methods. You deliver on high expectations through collaborating and engaging people with different competences in a complex and fast paced environment and are as passionate as you are skilled in co-creating better ways forward.

As a Digital Designer you will:
Lead and work closely together with stakeholders across Core Business Franchise and across IKEA to strengthen and contribute to a strong and relevant IKEA franchise offer.
Take the lead in developing and further enhancing the digital design principles and guidelines, building on consumer insights and insights from stakeholder across Core Business Franchise and IKEA.
Set the design direction of IKEA’s visual identity in digital products based on the digital design principles and guidelines.
Use the digital design principles and guidelines as the base, in designing, reviewing and implementing digital visual design with a strong focus on the user interaction.
Guide and support stakeholders that uses the digital design system.
Uphold and safeguard the digital experience in the digital design system, the conceptual site and IKEA-com base site products from an IKEA identity point of view, also across IKEA and different digital domains.
Work closely together with colleagues (eg. Identity brand specialists, creative leaders and designers) to enable and create relevant, unique and coherent brand identity both in digital and physical customer meeting points.
Define (and uphold) the governance structures for digital principles and guidelines including IKEA design leaders from the wider IKEA.
Be the overall spokesperson for digital design system and the conceptual site.
We will have a keen eye for your knowledge and experience on brand positioning, interior/graphic/product design and/or development and work in retail & business development and we expect a minimum of 7 years experience of working within digital design. It is important that you have a good understanding of how global trends and developments can impact IKEA, especially in the areas of retail, consumer behaviour, digital technology, sustainability and life at home.
We look for solid knowledge and understanding of trademark questions in general, visual guidelines, tone of voice etc. as well as knowledge in style guides, component libraries and design systems. We believe you are already experienced working with UI design and using prototyping tools, such as Sketch, Adobe XD, FramerX, Principle, Marvel, InVision and specifically Figma design tool as well as being knowledgeable on accessibility and WCAG accessibility guidelines.
We expect you to have proven ability in leading creative processes and facilitation, making complex tasks and processes understood and actionable. You are recognised for well-developed strategic and analytical skills and a capability to navigate and lead self and others in a complex, unknown and fast-changing environment.
You also have a solid track record in building knowledge-sharing networks that enable co-creation and constant learning as well as building and sustaining trustful relationships with stakeholders, business partners and peers in global, multi-cultural environments. To make the most of this role, you need to rely on experience in leading other leaders and senior competences as well as developing new potentials.

This position is full-time (40 hours per week) and is located in Malmö, Sweden.
Relocation from other geographies is not included.
Strong verbal and written English language skills are a must. Business travelling will be required on a need basis.
